Tour of Dublin
Enjoy a panoramic tour of the city. For such a small city, Dublin’s got a BIG past. The iconic city has survived Viking attacks, a devastating fire, and even the plague. It’s also founded of one of the oldest universities in Europe, Trinity College, and is home to Ireland’s legendary brew, Guinness. You will also swing by the Docklands, which are rich in maritime history, engineering triumphs and landmark architecture. This tour spans four centuries – from the 18th century construction of the harbour walls to the area’s transformation into a bustling 21st century city quarter for living, working and entertainment.
Saint Patrick's Cathedral
Located in the city’s fabulous Liberties district, and built on the site of an ancient well, one-time courthouse, and 5-star stable for Oliver Cromwell's horses, St Patrick's Cathedral is one of Ireland’s most visited sites - and one of the few remaining buildings from medieval Dublin. Built between 1220 and 1260 in honor of perhaps Ireland’s most famous patron saint, Saint Patrick, this spectacular Cathedral stands on the spot where the celebrated Saint allegedly baptised the local Celtic chieftains in the 5th century. Today, a stroll around its remarkable interiors takes visitors on a captivating historical adventure … From the wonderful baptistry and its 12th-century floor tiles, to the enchanting Lady Chapel used by French Huguenots fleeing persecution back at home, to the resting place of Jonathan Swift and his long-term companion Stella, St Patrick’s offers a unique glimpse into Dublin’s fascinating past.
Guiness Storehouse
Located in the heart of the city’s St James’s Gate, the 7-story Guinness Storehouse has been the site of the world-famous Guinness Brewery since 1759 when Arthur Guinness famously signed a 9,000-year lease and ensuring he had more than enough time to secure the future of one of the world’s most iconic drinks. The building itself was constructed in 1902 as a fermentation plant for the St. James's Gate Brewery, and since opening in 2000, this distinctive landmark has welcomed over twenty million visitors, keen to see the birthplace of the legendary velvet beer and to sample its distinctive taste straight from the barrel. Built in the unmistakable shape of a pint glass, its seven floors invite you to explore the past, present and future of the ebony nectar … discover the ingredients and brewing process that creates the unmistakable beer, explore the history of its award-winning advertising campaigns and an interactive exhibit on responsible drinking. Then head for everyone’s favourite, the seventh floor, home to the fabulous Gravity Bar complete with sensational views of Dublin and where you can kick back and enjoy a well-deserved pint of the black custard.
Dinner is included this evening in one of the most unique and beautiful bars in the city, The Church.
